The Mantis does not stand alone and must be attached to a Storm Series rack, a Lightning Series rack, or a wall. Once bolted in, however, the Mantis becomes a one-pulley 2:1-ratio functional trainer. Its pulley housing is adjustable and can be moved up and down through 18 positions, totaling 78 inches of vertical adjustment. Its steel cable is coated in nylon and travels smoothly through its furrows, so that the only obstacles facing athletes who use it are their own physical limitations which can--thanks to a 12-inch horn--quickly be reached.
